Junior Sous Chef / Sous Chef

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week

Contract: Full-Time

Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including evenings, weekends and varying shift patterns

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Sous Chef / Sous Chef to join our busy leisure and hospitality venue in Eastleigh. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to develop their career within a fast-paced environment, supporting both our restaurant operation and a varied programme of events.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality food across restaurant service, private functions, and special events while maintaining excellent kitchen standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

Prepare and deliver high-quality food for restaurant and event service.

Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.

Ensure food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards are maintained.

Support stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage.

Supervise and mentor junior kitchen team members.

Maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency.

Work flexibly across various shifts to meet business needs.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up, or an existing Junior Sous Chef/Sous Chef.

Experience in both restaurant and event/catering service is desirable.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to perform under pressure.

Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance.

Passion for fresh food and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
