Operations Manager – Education Catering – Birmingham

The Company

A well established and growing contract catering business operating across the UK, with a strong presence within the education sector.

The business is known for delivering high-quality, fresh food-led services across multiple school sites, with a strong focus on compliance, innovation, and client relationships.

Due to continued growth and internal development, they are now looking to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of education contracts across the Birmingham region.

The Package

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Car allowance: £6,000 per annum

Monday to Friday working pattern

25 days holiday + bank holidays

The Job Role

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of education catering contracts across the Birmingham area.

Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing multiple school sites, ensuring high standards of food quality and service delivery

Managing and developing Chef Managers and on-site teams

Full P&L responsibility across your portfolio

Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and school leadership teams

Driving compliance, health & safety, and food safety standards

Supporting mobilisation of new contracts and continuous improvement across existing sites

Monitoring performance, implementing efficiencies, and delivering against KPIs

The Requirements

Proven experience as an Operations Manager within contract catering

Strong background within education catering

Experience managing multi-site operations

Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility

Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills

Passion for fresh food and high service standards

Full UK driving licence

The Location

Birmingham and surrounding areas

Field-based role with travel across multiple sites
