£37,000 + Tronc (approx. £4,000) Bristol Full Time
Kestrel HR is delighted to be working with Graysons to find the perfect person to join their vibrant, quality-led restaurant at the heart of Bristol’s live events scene
We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the team at The Colonnade, the distinctive restaurant concept inside the very best venue in town… Bristol Beacon.
This is not your typical restaurant role. Our offer is relaxed yet refined, centred around fresh, seasonal small plates and a tapas-style sharing experience. With a busy calendar of live events, the pace is exciting, dynamic, and varied — perfect for a Sous Chef who thrives on energy and creativity.
What you’ll be doing
As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, working closely with our Head Chef and Executive Chef to deliver consistently high standards.
You will:
Support and lead kitchen operations during service
Confidently run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
Manage prep, stock control, and ordering
Maintain strong controls around GP, wastage, and portion consistency
Help drive quality, consistency, and team performance
Thrive during both restaurant service and high-volume event nights
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a capable, hands-on Sous Chef who brings both leadership and passion for fresh food.
You will ideally have:
Experience in fresh-food kitchens, ideally small plates or casual-premium restaurants
The confidence to lead a service and manage a team effectively
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A solid understanding of kitchen financials and stock management
The ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
