Experience Cook / Chef

The Old Ox Inn is a community-owned pub at the heart of Shillingstone. All profits are reinvested into our local community. We are passionate about creating a welcoming village pub that serves outstanding food, great drinks and genuine hospitality. 

We're looking for an experienced cook or chef to help design, develop and deliver a high-quality food offering for our guests. Our menu will focus on traditional British pub classics, prepared with care using quality ingredients and, wherever possible, locally sourced produce from Dorset suppliers. 

KEY DETAILS 

• Part-time position 
• Approximately 25–35 hours per week 
• Typical working pattern: Wednesday to Saturday
• Additional shifts may become available as the business grows. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

• Previous experience in a pub, restaurant or professional kitchen 
• Passion for producing quality, freshly prepared food 
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy service 
• High standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and presentation 
• Creative flair and enthusiasm for developing new dishes and seasonal specials 
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small, friendly team
